The best decision I ever made

Back in August 2017, I made a very late decision to embark on an MA course in Multimedia Journalism at the University of Kent. I’ve always known I want to be a writer and journalist, and realised only a few weeks into the course that it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

The course is fully accredited by the NCTJ – the body which oversees the training of journalists in the UK – and is one of the best in the country in terms of graduate prospects and what you learn.

I’ve been trained in print, online, TV and radio journalism, and have produced work that I’m proud of (as well as some which I now know I could’ve done better!)

As I near the end of the course, I’m excited for the future, but also fully aware that I need to make the most of the next few months. That means applying for as many jobs as possible, and making myself stand out as best I can.

If anyone reading this wants to go into the world of journalism, I thoroughly recommend the Centre for Journalism at Kent. Check out their site (with loads of job opportunities posted regularly) here: www,centreforjournalism.co.uk
